Harvest 2025

Over 90% of the food distributed by foodbanks in the Trussell Trust network is donated by the public – In the past few years Bath, Keynsham & Somer Valley Foodbank has gratefully received donations from individuals, churches and schools around harvest time. Without your goodwill, our foodbank would really struggle to help support people facing a crisis within the Bath community.

Can you help us this autumn with food donations?

Is your school, church or business considering doing a Harvest food collection this autumn? Maybe you could arrange a food collection amongst your neighbours, sports or hobby group.

We really do appreciate the generosity of our community every Harvest. The donations that come in each autumn are necessary towards ensuring we can meet the need through the colder months. The demand on our service continues and we have seen a decrease in donations over recent months so your participation in our Harvest collection would be much appreciated.

Is your Church or School doing a harvest collection for us?

Each Church and School in Bath who is wishing to collect for Bath, Keynsham & Somer Valley Foodbank has been issued their own specific list of needed items. If you have been given one of these lists and are intending to donate, we kindly ask that you donate items from your allocated list to ensure our warehouse does not experience significant shortages of items. The list for schools and churches are below. We offer a more colourful A4 poster and a black and white A4 poster for everyone’s printing needs. We have also included a smaller image that you can download onto your phone to use on WhatsApp, Messenger or another communication app.

If you are a business or an individual, please just choose one of the lists below.

The Need

Since April this year we have so far supported 3179 people (including 930 children) with food, a number we expect to increase as we go into the winter months and supporting a wider area with the newly merged foodbank covering the Banes area.

Best practices for doing a food drive

When donating please be aware we are only able to accept tinned or packet items and all items must be in date.

Then communicate to the people you want to encourage to donate and include the food list we have provided.

Set a deadline for donations. Once the deadline you determine arrives, you can arrange for the donations to be delivered or collected any time this autumn.

Please contact us at [email protected]toarrange a collection or a delivery time for your donations.

Very important

If possible, it would be preferable if you could arrange an appointment with us to bring your donations to our warehouse.

If you have collected a large amount of food, you can arrange with us for our volunteer van team to come collect the food. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Other ways to donate
