About our foodbank

Here is an introduction to our project.

Bath, Keynsham and the Somer Valley Foodbanks merged in June 2025. The foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust netwrok of foodbanks but under the local leadership of Genesis Trust Bath. Together they serve vulnerable families and individuals in crisis with food and further support.

Keynsham Foodbank was established in September 2013 and run entirely by volunteers. The food bank covers and serves the needs of those in food crisis in Keynsham, Saltford, some nearby villages, the Chew Valley and a small part of neighbouring South Gloucestershire. They have a warehouse in Marksbury and three food distribution centres – one in Saltford and 2 in Keynsham.

Somer Valley Foodbank was launched in 2012 and supported by local churches facilitated by St John’s Church, Peasedown St John. It covers a radius of five miles from the centre of Midsomer Norton and was entirely run by volunteers with a warehouse, four distribution centres and a van.

Bath Foodbank was founded in 2011 and has been a project of Genesis Trust Bath. The Bath Foodbank has been run by 3 part-time members of staff who are greatly supported by a dedicated team of volunteers.  We have a warehouse,  3 foodbank centres and our own van collection.

We are entirely dependent on voluntary contributions of food and finance for the running of the Foodbank. We are generously supported by churches, schools, supermarkets, businesses and individuals.
